Paul Telenson, MA

Paul Telenson is a Senior Human Resources Executive with more than 25 years in diverse leadership positions and a proven track record of combining business needs with highly effective human resource programs. His experience with AdvancePierre Foods, Pinnacle Foods, International Home Foods, Nabisco, BF Goodrich and Firestone, spans the full spectrum of core talent assessment to executive counseling. Paul brings a wealth of H.R. expertise in acquisition integration and transitioning, organizational design and staffing, labor relations, contract negotiations and compensation and benefits plan design.

Paul first joined BeamPines in 2004, following successful executive assignments with CDM & Company, the exclusive operating partner of Hicks, Muse, Tate and Furst, overseeing all of their consumer product investments. Paul was a key member of the senior leadership team that resulted in Hicks Muse realizing a $1.1B gain on an investment of $373M in International Home Foods and Pinnacle Foods.

He was recruited in 2008 by Pierre Foods’ CEO, a BeamPines client, who commissioned Paul to help guide the company from bankruptcy to a 1.8 B integrated Food Service specialty manufacturer and distributor. Backed by Oak Tree Capital, Paul helped the management team merge Pierre with Advance Foods in 2010. Paul retired from Advance –Pierre in 2013, relocated back home to NJ and re-joined BeamPines in 2014 as an adjunct Executive Coach and a Consultant focusing on M&A cultural, talent and leadership integrations,

During his business career, Paul has designed and staffed organizations that were poised for growth and acquisition ready. Paul has played lead roles in integrating companies and their senior management teams. He has been sought out for his thoughtful counsel and pragmatic approach to all people and leadership challenges.

Paul’s hands-on, high-energy approach has resulted in more effective operations and better inter functional relationships within the teams he coached.

Paul graduated from Thiel College in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He earned a Master of Arts in Industrial Psychology from the University of Akron in 1975, where he also worked as a Graduate Assistant. Paul continued his academic training in 1995, completing the Executive Human Resource Development Program at Cornell University.

Paul lives in Hillsborough, N.J., with his wife Mary Joe. They have two grown daughters also living in NJ. Paul is active in the Lutheran Church where he is an Assistant Minister and has served as Council President and Chairperson for the Long Range Planning Committee.
