Deborah Hopper

Deborah recently joined the consulting world with extensive experience as a Human Resources executive.  She has worked in world class organizations with complex businesses.  Deborah is highly effective at partnering with senior leaders and their business units in end-to-end HR consulting. She has been successful at collaborating with corporate partners on developing and executing key leadership and diversity/inclusion initiatives.  She is a proven leader of HR teams focused on setting and executing strategic plans, while creating and sustaining a positive, open and innovative climate.

Most recently Deborah served as an HR leader with Prudential Financial in Hartford, CT.  Over her 14 years there she held a variety of key positions. As an HR Business Partner she supported a variety of functions including Sales, Operations, Products, Investment Solutions, Actuary and Technology.  She set strategy for HR teams, handled employee relations matters, applied project management skills to enterprise initiatives, and partnered on recruiting and compensation efforts.

Deborah’s responsibilities in Prudential’s Retirement division included creating and leading the strategic initiatives for Talent,Diversity and Organizational Effectiveness.  She led the development and ongoing rigor of succession management, talent processes and programs.  Deborah worked to improve the overall climate within Retirement by guiding leadership development, team effectiveness, learning, and organizational design. She also led the initiative to launch diversity and inclusion education within the division which ultimately was adopted more broadly across the enterprise. Deborah supported a variety of talent and diversity initiatives with business partners across the company.

Deborah also held the role of Vice President HR – ManagerialCapability and led the group responsible for strengthening Prudential’s capability to build and develop managers at all levels across the company.  She created the strategy and initiatives and built a team to execute the work.

Prior to joining Prudential, Deborah held HR Business Partner roles with Allstate Insurance Company, The Hartford and Cigna where she was a key advisor to a variety of senior leaders.

Deborah is certified in a number of leadership development assessment tools and coaching methodologies including Hay/Korn Ferry tools, Hogan assessments, PROSCI Change Management and Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching.

Deborah holds a B.A. in English and Sociology from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts and has served on the Executive Board for the Greater Hartford Chapter of MADD as well as Capital Towers of Hartford, CT.  She supports programs for feeding those less fortunate – focusing on children in need. She also was a consistent active member in Corporate Diversity Business Resource Groups. Deborah is based in the greater Hartford area.
